The Invisible Man

Chinese artist Liu Bolin camouflages himself into his surroundings with paint. His work requires a lot of patience with him having to pose and work on his photographs for more than ten hours at a time to get it just right. Liu said he wanted to show how city surroundings affected the people living in them.He added that the inspiration behind his work was a sense of not fitting in to modern society, and this intricate art serves as a silent protest against the persecution of artists.

'My job is to choose a good background where I want to be "disappeared", and then stand there unmoved until a design has been painted on me,' he said. 'There are many people who like my work I think because my work has a quiet strength, in the photographs. 'I am standing, but there is a silent protest, the protest against the environment for the survival, the protest against the state. 'I wanted to photograph the reality of scenes of China's development today. 'My work is a kind of reminder, to remind people what the community we live in really looks like, and what kind of problems exist.'

Liu said: 'Some people call me the invisible man, but for me it's what is not seen in a picture which is really what tells the story.

Its a question that drifts across the waves of my mind from time to time 'Can you loose ur Creative Jazz' to be honest I really cant see it happening,but i can see where it can be inhibited. there is just sooooo much that inspires the mind all around!! and each idea kind of feeds another! like Jay-Z says 'On to the next one'.. I guess we are all creative, just in different ways. When my home girl mentioned to me that she was tye-dying a blouse a few days ago, I was hit with a pleasant feel of nostalgia. Those easy days of prep school, where art classes were spent mummyfing freshly purchased T-shirts and then dunking them into our own coloured brews, it was like magic! I Luved it, no two pieces were ever the same, it was always a surprise. This is a a style, an art, a trend that everyone ~~age is not a factor~~ can have fun with, whether it's doing a DIY or picking out some playful accessories-- Tie Dye is easy breezy certified :D

Mesh Bag Tutorial :D .... by HONESTLY...WTF

You’ll need:

a cotton net bag (also available at Whole Foods)
2 carabiners (if you can’t find gold carabiners, you can spray paint them)
8 sets of 1/4″ screw posts
a flat head screwdriver
a pair of scissors

Start by cutting each of the straps down the middle, creating 4 loose straps. With a marker, mark 2 dots on each strap about 3 inches apart

Carefully pierce a small hole through each mark with the tip of the scissors. Fold one of the straps through the carabiner, aligning the two holes with each other.

Push the screw post set through both holes and tighten with a screwdriver.

Add another set of screw posts about an inch of the way down for more support. Repeat the steps for the rest of the 3 straps

ART on the Tip of a Pencil

Carpenter by profession Dalton Ghetti, decided that he needed a challenge 25 years ago,and has been sculpting miniature masterpieces on the tips on pencils ever since. The 49 year old stated, “At school I would carve a friend’s name into the wood of a pencil and then give it to them as a present. Later, when I got into sculpture, I would make these huge pieces from things like wood, but decided I wanted to challenge myself by trying to make things as small as possible. I experimented sculpting with different materials, such as chalk, but one day I had an eureka moment and decided to carve into the graphite of a pencil.”

He uses three basic tools – a razor blade, a sewing needle and a sculpting knife.He refuses to use a magnifying glass. Amazingly none of his pieces are for sale, he only gives some away as presents for friends o__O

The Brazilian born carpenter, says The longest he has spent on one piece was two and half years: a pencil with interlinking chains. A standard figure will take several months. “The interlinking chains took the most effort and I was really pleased with it because it’s so intricate people think it must be two pencils.”

One of my AbSolute Favourite styles is the maxi dress... what can I say it really does maximise lol-- from day to night-- beach chic to the streets... its one of the best 'go to' alternatives to beat the heat, hide an over due wax or to just be a pretty reminder that your living island style- (busy schedule notwithstanding). Put on sum fun nail polish and then get creative with the accessories--ride the bohemian vybe :) & since in most cases you are for the most part pretty much covered up,show some more skin n' slip on sum sexci sandals, sky high wedges,or peep-toe flats anything your comfortable with (well ALMOST anything) lol.....easy breezy style :)

Gourmet Doggy Treats

I recently tagged along with one of my gal pals to pick up some doggy necessaries from the supermarket. While browsing through the limited availables, it struck me how expensive they were compared to how relatively simple they seemed.. so it got me thinking why not check out some pet DIY :)

Naturally the food would be my focus:D

I found quite a few fun looking canine treats that got me feeling like planning a pet party. Remember treats should make up only 10% of a pets daily diet.

*For Your Reference

Microwave Easy Treat for Dogs .... from the Great Dane Lady

3 Jars baby food, meat or vegetable
1/2 cup Oat flour or non-gluten flour from health food store

Drop by teaspoon on wax paper covered paper plate, flatten with fork,

cover with second paper plate. Microwave on high 4-5 min., cool, store in refrigerator.

Bad Breath Banisher's .... from Shannon's Ark pet sitting service

2 cups brown rice flour
1 tablespoon activated charcoal (find at drugstores, not the briquets!)
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped fresh mint
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
2/3 cup low fat milk

Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly oil a cookie sheet. Combine flour and charcoal. Add remaining ingredients. Use spoon to drop batter onto oiled sheet, about one inch apart. Bake 15-20 minutes. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Planning on having a few friends over with their furry companions try the

Pet Party mix .... from The Paw Squad

Yields 20 Servings

2 cups spoon sized shredded wheat

2 cups Crispix

1/2 cup melted butter/ margarine

2 Tbs dry gravy mix

1/2 cup bacon bits

1/2 cup Kraft grated American Cheese (powdered cheese)

1 cup Dog Jerky/ Pupperoni/Sausages

2 cups Cheerios

Preheat oven to 250. Pour melted butter into 13 x 9 baking pan. Stir in cheese powder, bacon bits and gravy mix. Add cereals and stir well until all pieces are coated. Heat in oven for 45 mins. Meanwhile cut doggie meat treats into 1/2 inch pieces. Remove cereal from oven, add doggie treats. Store in airtight containers. May be frozen and will keep well.

BJ'S Peanutty Pupcicles....from the Great Dane Lady

1 banana
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup oats

Mash the bananas and peanut butter, stir in oats. Chill 1 hour.Place in container, store in refrigerator or freezer.

I CAN BE quite lazy at times ~~well~~ ~~allot~~ ~~of the times lol~~ on this particular lazy morning I couldn't even rouse my self into making my Fav go-to breakfast dish French Toast..so i decided to eat the nearest thing which was a papaya fruit even though it looked to be a little on the green side.. suffice to say IT WAS!! hence guilt induced cooking ensued : partially due to getting caught in the act of disposing of my green evidence by a very irate mother (mothers have a radar for lazy movements) XD any-whoo it turned out to be quite The TREAT :D
----- Candied Papaya in Syrup ----- ¡Muy delicioso! and very simple to make *see recipe below.

Difficulty Level: EASY
Time: 35 minutes

Candied Papaya in Syrup

PaPaya Syrup Recipe
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water
2 semi ripe papayas (1 fruit can be used with this recipe)
1 teaspoons cinnamon powder (2 cinnamon leaves )
1/3 teaspoons grounded nutmeg
2 grounded dried clove berries
1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lime juice (can substitute with lime concentrate)

Method
Wash and peel the papaya then cut the fruit in half.
Remove the seeds and dice the halves into bite size pieces.
Bring the cup of water to boil on a medium flame while stirring in the brown sugar and lime juice.
Add the spices and leave to simmer on low flame with pot covered. Continue to stir at frequent intervals for 20-30 minutes.
Allow fruit mixture to cool then Enjoy!!

The consistency will be like honey

Serve warm or chilled!! garnish with lime leaves or in my case I used young orange leaves-Teehee ;) the choice of citrus is not only for the colour contrast but also because the citrus and spiced fruit flavour is ohh soo divine!!

Banana Pancake :)

Enjoy on top of Banana pancakes, on dohnuts, toast, ice-cream, drizzle on cake, in a glass of milk, in sweet and spicy sausage.. ANYWHERE you want the sweet and subtle papaya flavour with a hint of spice :D
I have done all of the above and its a real hit at home... keep refrigerated between uses and enjoy the fruity goodness :D

Hey All!!! :) I think most of us used to play dress up and romp around as Indians and cowboys or stick a few feathers in our hair and pretend to be pocahontas (~~never mind the lack of feathers in her costume~~) it was quite fun to take a trod on the "wild side" even back then. So its no surprise that the trend has been flying high in the streets and really everywhere for that matter.. Spunking up outfits and lending an edge to sum simple treeses... I for one LUVz it :P

I have a few ingredients id like to add to my set: in addition to melting dark chocolate i'll pick up some white chocolate while im at it and add some food colouring to the mix so i can have some colourful butterflies with edible glitter ..
